Workshop Proposal
We welcome proposals for workshops that explore, celebrate, and critically engage with material culture. Whether your expertise lies in hands-on making, object interpretation, archival work, or creative practices, we’d love to hear from you.
What we're looking for

Relevant & impactful – Workshops should connect meaningfully to material culture, creativity, and/or research.

Authentic & original – We welcome unique approaches and innovative teaching methods.

Accessible & participatory – Design your workshop so participants of all backgrounds can engage, learn, and contribute.
Format & logistics

Duration: 1–3 hours is typical, but other formats will be considered.

Audience: Indicate the intended skill level (beginner, intermediate, advanced).

Materials: Let us know what participants will need, or what you can provide.

Location: Specify if your workshop is in-person, virtual, or hybrid.
How to submit

Email your proposal to hdickinson@dal.ca with “Workshop Proposal” in the subject line.

Your name and a short bio (50–100 words)

Workshop title and description (150–300 words)

Learning objectives and participant takeaways

Any technical or space requirements

Optional: Images of past workshops, related projects, or inspiration for the session.
Review & scheduling

We’ll confirm receipt of your proposal within 5 business days.

Our team may suggest adjustments for clarity, scope, or accessibility.

Approved workshops will be scheduled based on program needs, space availability, and timing within our seasonal offerings.
